Acer Debuts New $200 Chromebook
Acer is sweetening the pot for anyone looking for a cheaper way into the already-inexpensive world of Chromebooks. Today it unveiled a new version of its C720 Chromebook, the C720-2848, that is $50 cheaper than the original model — taking the device from $250 to $200. The new laptop is virtually identical to the old one as far as specs and features go too, though the C720-2848 comes with 2GB of RAM, while the previous version has 4GB. Given the price cut, and given the fact that Chrome OS is largely web-dependent, that subtraction may not mean much to some. Either way, US customers interested in the \”entry-level\” C720 can nab one at Amazon or Best Buy today. Acer says it\’ll sell the device out of its own online store sometime this December.
