Dell-owned Alienware is synonymous with PC gaming. They make stylish and powerful rigs and laptops that can handle the most demanding games while at the same time offering users easy access to the working pieces for expansion or upgrades.
The Alienware Area-51 ALX is their top-of-line rig, combining numerous GPUs, heat sensing fins, stacks of RAM and a removable power source in an expensive beast (it starts at more than two thousand dollars) that Alienware hopes gamers will drool over.
Did I say beast? I meant monster, because like a monster it’s large – with height and depth that can be measured in feet – heavy – the review unit tipped the scales 84 pounds – loud – DTR claims, \”it\’s not even a machine you\’ll really want to turn on if someone is sleeping near by,\” – and hungry – requiring more than 600 watts of electricity when fully engaged. In other words, it has the characteristics of one powerful and impressive gaming machine.
DekstopReview has been literally playing with the device and has a few thoughts to share in the DTR Alienware Area-51 ALX review.
