It’s easy to get caught up in the hoopla surrounding an upcoming new iPhone, details of iOS 7 and rumors of an Apple iWatch, but let’s not forget Apple still makes the iPod.

\"iPodThe tech giant is now selling a new 16GB iPod touch in its online store. The device appears to be a 16GB variant of the 5th generation iPod touch, which is also available  with 32GB or 64GB.

The 16GB model features a 4-inch Retina display, dual-core A5 processor and front-facing FaceTime HD camera. It has the same 6.1mm-thick case as the 5th generation variant, but no longer has a rear-facing camera. It appears the older iPod has been discontinued.

Apple is selling the 16GB iPod touch model for $229. It’s available in only a black and silver design and will ship within 24 hours, according to Apple.
