AT&T has announced availability of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
The wireless company will begin pre-order sales of the smartphone on April 16 for $249.99 with a two-year commitment.
Samsung officially launched the Galaxy S4 at an event in New York City on March 15, although it teased the phone in the weeks leading up to the event and rumors ran rapid prior to its release. The smartphone will be available on all four major US carriers.
AT&T is the first carrier to announce availability and pricing of the device, although, at a T-Mobile event earlier this week, various outlets reported the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available on the T-Mobile network on or around May 1, but pricing is still unknown.
Update: AT&T has clarified that the $249.99 price point listed above applies to the 32 GB model of the Galaxy S4, while the 16 GB version will cost $199.99 with a two-year contract. That latter price puts the S4 in closer proximity to the HTC One, although HTC\’s flagship will carry double the storage at that same cost. It\’s worth noting, however, that the S4\’s storage capacity can be upgraded, while the One\’s cannot. Either way, it looks like the two devices will be locked in a heated battle in just a few weeks\’ time.
