Belkin announced yesterday at CES 2013 that it has developed upgrades to its NetCam, a wireless networking camera, including HD quality and WeMo SMART capabilities.
The NetCam HD Wi-Fi Camera, which will allow users to see what is going on inside their homes while they are away, will now feature high-quality 720p resolution, according a press release issued by the company. The device will connect directly to the user’s Wi-Fi network, without needing a computer for the set-up process.
The NetCam HD will work with any iOS and Android device, and will allows users to see what is going on in their homes from anywhere. Consumers can also download the NetCam app, which allows them to receive e-mail notifications when motion is detected.
The new NetCam HD will also feature the new WeMo SMART platform, designed to bring a Wi-Fi home control platform to additional devices, products and brands. With the WeMo SMART functionality, users will be able to view their NetCam HD stream from the WeMo app. The new technology will also allow the camera to act as an additional motion sensor on a WeMo network to trigger another device to turn on or off when it senses motion.
The NetCam HD will be available in spring 2013 for $149.99 USD at the time of this writing.
