The $50 price cut applies to the iPhone 4, 4S, and 5 when users also sign up for a two-year contract with Verizon, AT&T or Sprint. The iPhone 5S is expected to be released sometime in the fall, likely in September, after various delays pushed back an initial summer launch date. It’s not surprising a retailer like Best Buy would engage in a promotion like this to offload some of its stock as it prepares for the new handset to arrive.
Additionally, Best Buy will be offering deals on various Android smartphones over the Memorial Day holiday. From May 26 to June 1 customers can get the Samsung Galaxy S III for $49 on the AT&T and Sprint networks, the HTC Droid DNA for $49 on Verizon’s network and the HTC One X for free on AT&T’s network.
