Earlier this year, Blackberry announced two new handsets, an updated OS, and that it would be re-branding the company by dropping its former name, RIM. Verizon Wireless already has the Blackberry Z10 available to order, and now, customers can pre-order the Blackberry Q10 too. The device is priced at $199 with a two-year agreement, and can be purchased without a contract for $599. Verizon is expecting the device to ship by June 6.
The Blackberry Q10 is reminiscent of past Blackberry devices, such as the Bold, with its familiar QWERTY keyboard. The big difference is the added touch screen capabilities, along with the completely revamped Blackberry 10 OS. However, it’s still too soon to tell Blackberry\’s latest iteration of its classic smartphone will be enough to regain its place in the market, after years of low sales.
