Popular mobile productivity app CloudOn is now available for select Android smartphone users, giving them the capability to access a Microsoft Office-like environment on their smartphones. Supported devices include the popular Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2 and Nexus 4. The app was previously only available on some Android tablets, like the Nexus 7, and the iPad.
New to the smartphone version of the app is an augmented version of the Microsoft Office ribbon. The smartphone version spaces the icons farther apart while making them larger so they are easier to use on the smaller touchscreen of an Android smartphone.
CloudOn also updated its FileSpace, which functions as changelog for activity related to a specific document.
Other functionalities of the original app for iOS and Android tablets remain, including the ability to view documents in landscape mode, add notes and comments to any file and access files on cloud storage services like Dropbox, SkyDrive and Google Drive.
CloudOn serves up a virtual Microsoft Office environment to users, allowing them to access a form of the productivity suite online, or in the cloud, similar to OnLive Desktop.
CloudOn is now available in the Google Play Store and it is free.
