\"DishDish today announced an update to its Dish Anywhere mobile app that lets iPhone and Android users take their on demand content from their couches to their smartphones or tablets. The feature was previously only available for iPad users, but now works with any devices running Android 4.0 and up or iOS 5.0 and up.

For the uninitiated, Dish Anywhere lets Dish users stream live and recorded content from a Dish Hopper with Sling DVR — or any other Dish set-top box that\’s connected to a Sling adapter — on mobile devices. The Hopper with Sling was announced at CES this past January, and became available nationwide a month later.

Beyond the diversified compatibility, the app update also brings social media integration with Facebook and Twitter for letting friends know what you\’re watching, as well as the “Audio Only” mode that was previously released on iPad and lets users listen to their content while performing other tasks. The update is available now as a free download from the App Store and Google Play.
