EA is trying very hard to live up to its billing as the biggest game publisher at E3 by announcing a robust slate of new games, including crowd-pleasing sequels and franchise resurrections.

Perhaps the one that had the fanboys the most giddy was news that EA and DICE are developing a new entry in the Star Wars Battlefront series.

Not much is known about the title, other than the franchise. EA demoed a brief teaser, featuring the ice planet Hoth, and the crushing foot of a giant AT-AT walker.

Last month, EA announced it partnered with Disney and had acquired the rights to develop publish Star Wars games.

Plants Vs Zombies

EA also announced a successor, but not necessarily a sequel, to the popular mobile tower defense game Plants vs Zombies. Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare will be a third-person cooperative survival-action game for the Xbox One and 360 built on the Frostbite 3 engine, complete with different character classes that align with the original.

Another popular casual game, Peggle, will receive a direct sequel, appropriately dubbed Peggle 2.

Need for Battlefield

EA showed off new editions of the Battlefield and Need for Speed franchises. The new Need for Speed will enable multiplayer mid-way through a single player course through a new feature called All Drive. Battlefield 4 will offer a command mode for overhead view, as well as 64-player multiplayer matches.

Dragons and Mirrors

Bioware’s Dragon Age: Inquisition, a medieval–themed open-world adventure game, will make an appearance on the next-generation consoles.

Finally, a sequel to Mirror’s Edge will come to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. No word on when the new Mirror’s Edge will ship. The unique and popular original launched in 2009.

EA Sports

EA Sports\’ popular franchises also received time, with NBA Live 14 showcasing BounceTek, a new physics-based ball bouncing technology.

EA announced that Madden NFL 25 will be an Xbox One and PS4 launch title, with new player movement technology and AI.

EA Sports UFC will launch next spring for both the Xbox One and PS4, with new opponent AI and player striking technology.
