Getting the most out of a day lift ticket just got easier. Google announced today that it has added maps of 38 different ski resorts to the Google Maps app for Android devices and iPhones. The update added maps of runs and lifts for ski resorts across the U.S. and Canada, including Big Sky in Montana and Okemo in Vermont.
Users can open the app at the top of the hill to decide which run to take down the mountain by checking out the map and looking for the blue, green and black solid lines representing runs of increasing difficulties. Ski lifts are displayed as red dotted lines.
In order to plan a day on the slope in the most efficient way, ski resorts in Google Maps is also viewable on a laptop browser, allowing users to plot their course for the day before leaving the house. There is also a street view preview of select slopes.
According to Google, maps of additional ski resorts are on the way.
