Three months ago, Google launched its One Today app, allowing users in the US to donate $1 each day to different causes.
Up until now, the app required an invitation, however, Google has opened it up to almost all Android users in the United States. The app features a different cause each day, and users can make donations public and can choose to donate more than $1. The app links with a user’s Google account allowing them to keep track of the charities they are donating too. Non-profit charities can sign up for free to be considered as a featured cause. Google incurs a 1.9% transaction fee, while the rest of the payment is given to the charity.
The app is available for free in the Google Play store for Android. There is no word yet on when Google will extend the service to other countries outside the US.
