Big iPad fans, rejoice: today is the day you can finally pick up Apple’s newest 9.7-inch tablet. The iPad Air is now available in 42 countries, and starts at $500 for a 16GB, WiFi-only model. For the most part, the iPad Air isn’t incredibly different than its predecessor, but it has gotten a major physical redesign that makes it thinner, lighter, and generally much more reminiscent of the iPad mini.
And speaking of the iPad mini, Apple’s latest 7.9-inch slate still does not have an exact release date pinned down yet. That device will pack a much-improved 2048×1536 ‘Retina’ display and 64-bit A7 processor–both the same as the iPad Air–but Apple has not given it a launch frame other than sometime this month. When it does come out, we’ll keep you posted.
