Lenovo Announces ThinkPad S531 Ultrabook

Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad S531 15-inch notebook aimed at small businesses looking for a premium design.

\"LenovoThe Ultrabook has an aluminum and magnesium alloy shell with a single hinge, allowing for 180-degree opening so the notebook can lay flat. The machine has black ports and a sandblast finish and is available in both silver and Gunmetal, otherwise known as black.

The notebook is customizable with a selection of Intel 3rd Generation Core processors, up to 10GB of memory and 500 GB of storage.  It has a 15.6-inch Antiglare Full HD display.

Included in the design are a backlit full-Chiclet style keyboard and a large trackpad optimized for Windows 8. The keyboard features multimedia buttons, LED status indicators and function-lock capability, while the trackpad supports 5-click integration to make navigating the Windows 8 user interface seamless.

Lenovo claims the ThinkPad S531 gets nine hours of battery life. The Ultrabook features OneLink technology, while connects the notebook to the ThinkPad OneLink Dock via the power cable, for dedicated video USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet and audio while charging the notebook.

The Lenovo ThinkPad S531 is available in the U.K now and starts at £575 (roughly $900). Lenovo hasn’t announced any pricing or availability details for U.S. customers.
