Logitech announced two new universal remotes, aimed at those with home theater set ups. The Harmony Ultimate and Harmony Smart Control universal remotes tote different features, but both include the Harmony Hub.
The Harmony Ultimate features a 2.4-inch touch screen, connectivity with up to 15 devices, and will turn on automatically once removed from its charging doc. The Harmony Smart Control does not feature a touchscreen and will only connect to eight devices, but will retail at a lower price point. The Harmony Hub allows for all components of a home theater to be stored in a cabinet; using Bluetooth technology it acts as an IR blaster for the tucked away devices. Using the Harmony Hub, all connected devices will be compatible with the Logitech Smartphone app for iOS and Android.
The Harmony Ultimate retails for $350 and the Harmony Smart Control retails for $130; both prices include the Harmony Hub. Although Logitech announced earlier this year that it wishes to sell its Harmony division, the company continues to develop and support its products until it is sold.
