Nokia announced its newest flagship smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 928, which will be exclusively available on the Verizon Wireless network.
The smartphone, which is the latest in the company’s line of Windows Phone 8 devices, has a 4.5-inch OLED touchscreen display, LTE support, and an 8.7MP camera with a wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens. Nokia is touting the Lumia 928’s image and video capturing abilities, noting the device includes Nokia’s PureView imagining software, optical image stabilization and Xenon flash. The Lumia 928 has three HAAC microphones and a loudspeaker for recording audio, as well.
Wireless charging capabilities are also built into the device, along with an integrated 2000mAh battery and dual-core Qualcomm processor. It also has NFC, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal capacity.
Some software will come preinstalled on the handset, including Lumia apps such as HERE Maps, Drive, Transit, and City Lens. The device will also come with Nokia Music and Mix Radio, Smart Shoot, Cinemagraph, Panorama and Photobeamer right out of the box.
The Nokia Lumia 928 will be available exclusively to Verizon Wireless customers on May 16 for $99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a signature on a new two-year contract. The device will be available in white or black.
