AT&T customers have been able to enjoy Nokia’s excellent Lumia 920 for a few months now, but now the Finnish manufacturer looks to have revealed that Verizon will be getting a new Windows Phone too. The company has launched a teaser site for the long-rumored Lumia 928, seemingly confirming its name through the page\’s URL and giving a picture of what the device will look like.
The pic comes just after an advertisement for the device was spotted in the latest issue of Vanity Fair. That image touts the Lumia 928’s PureView camera and Carl Zeiss lens, while listing Verizon as the phone’s only carrier, as expected. Nokia isn’t giving specifics about the Lumia 928’s specs or other features, but past speculation has pointed to the device being largely similar to the aforementioned Lumia 920.
No launch or pricing details have been given either, but the recent ramp-up in advertising hints that more formal announcements will arrive in the near future. TechnologyGuide has reached out to Nokia for further comment and will update this post if it hears back.
Update: Even with the reported magazine ad out in the wild, officially Nokia isn\’t treating the Lumia 928 as a confirmed product just yet. When asked for comment on the matter, a Nokia spokesperson told TG: \”While we continue to work closely with Verizon and Microsoft to promote Windows Phone, we have made no new product announcements at this point. All I can say is you should expect to hear more from us soon.\”
