Nokia Releases JobLens, Augmented Reality App For Job Seekers

by Reads (77)

Nokia Lumia users looking for a new job now have another tool to help them find the perfect position, and this time all they have to do is walk around.

\"NokiaNokia has used augmented reality technology to develop the JobLens app, which allows users to see what jobs are available near their location. By using the augmented reality viewer, users just hold the smartphone up and, as they walk through an area, available jobs nearby will pop up on the screen. Users can then click on a job for a full description of the company and the position. The app also includes a map view.

Nokia collaborated with LinkedIn, Indeed, Zillow and Salary.com. JobLens also helps users submit resumes and it uses your LinkedIn profile to suggest positions that may be a good fit. Should an interview be offered, the app will use its maps feature to get you there on time.

The app is exclusive to Nokia Lumia devices and launched in the U.S. and Canada today.
