Panasonic To Take on Roku with New Media Players, Now Available

Panasonic has officially announced availability for its inaugural line of streaming media players, unveiled last month at the International Consumer Electronics Show, entering a market already crowded with devices like the Roku lineup and Boxee TV.

Panasonic MST60 streaming media playerThe line features two devices, a DMP-MST60 model with VIERA Connect, priced at $99.99, and the DMP-MS10 model with IP VOD which is priced at $79.99. Both models are immediately available.

The MST60 is capable of streaming 3D and can turn any TV into a Smart TV via the VIERA Connect platform, which allows users access to internet-based video content and applications. It also features 2D-3D conversion and Miracast, which allows users to transfer content from their smartphone or tablet to their HDTV.

The MS10 model comes equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and gives users access to IP VOD, allowing them to stream content from apps like Netflix and Vudu. Both models feature HDD Playback.
