Plair has introduced its second generation streaming device, the Plair 2. The Plair 2 is similar to Google Chromecast, in that it is a dongle-sized media streamer for HDTVs.
Plair 2 features 1080p streaming with built-in support for Android TV, Amazon Appstore, Hulu Plus, Netflix, VUDU, Spotify, Pandora, Comcast Xfinity App, and games such as Angry Birds. A user’s smartphone or tablet acts as the remote, allowing them to control each app. The Plair may cost $15 more than the Google Chromecast, at $49, but when comparing the list of available apps, Plair offers more compatibility.
The Plair 2 will be available starting November 8 on the Plair, Amazon, and Newegg websites.
