Samsung has officially announced the long-rumored Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. The device is a smaller version of the company’s flagship Galaxy S4, but it’s not exactly “mini.”
The Galaxy S4 mini has a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, which is over half an inch smaller than its older sibling’s 5-inch screen, but actually bigger than the iPhone 5\’s 4-inch display. The mini’s dimension is 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.94 mm, which again, is smaller than the Galaxy S4, but larger than the iPhone 5.
Debate over the parameters of “mini” aside, the smaller Galaxy S4 has many the same features as the flagship Galaxy S4, including preloaded apps like S Translator and S Health. In terms of specs, the device is a mid-tier version of the larger S4. The mini is equipped with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini will support both 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+ and 3G Dual SIM networks. The handset will be available in White Frost and Black Mist. In terms of availability, Samsung only said commercial availability “will be determined by market.”
