Samsung unveiled its new TV-connected box at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on Sunday, announcing the Samsung HomeSync.
The Samsung HomeSync system is aimed towards families and provides 1TB of storage that can sync to multiple devices, allowing for shared storage and sharing content from multiple devices to multiple users. The device supports up to eight password-protected accounts with file encryption and allows each user to download content from multiple devices and share that content with other accounts.
Users can also stream content from a Samsung Galaxy device wirelessly to the TV, to be viewed at full HD 1080p. Users can stream videos, photos and apps. The device runs on Android Jelly Bean and allows access to the Google Play store. Users can also set up their smartphone to be used as a remote control for the HomeSync system.
According to the company, the device will be available in April in the US.
