SmugMug Launches Free Android App
After purchasing the SmugFolio app and hiring its developer, SmugMug, a photo sharing service, has launched the SmugMug for Android app, which is available now as a free download in Google Play.
The app allows users to upload photos and videos on-the-go, or automatically upload images as they are taken. Users can also access photos while offline and check out other user’s galleries without logging into the service. Many of the same features available on the web platform are also available to mobile users, including the ability to display photo geolocation of a Google Map, view comments on photos and albums and view full screen slideshows among other features.
Mobile users also get their own set of features, including the ability to share URLs or photos with other Android applications, export images to a local device gallery, change download location to an external SD card and view content in Read Only mode. The app update also adds OAuth for login, which SmugMug claims makes the app more secure.
SmugMug for Android requires version 3.0 or later.
