Sony Announces New VAIO Fit Notebooks

Sony has announced a new line of notebooks, VAIO Fit, aimed at business users and students looking for a premium design at a budget price.

\"VAIOWhen developing the VAIO Fit line, Sony put a big emphasis on design, according to the company. The VAIO Fit is built with aluminum materials to make it durable enough to hold up to frequent transport. The customizable notebook is available with up to an Intel Core i7 processor, optional NVIDIA graphics and up to 2GB of RAM. Users may also choose between a hybrid hard drive and solid state drive.

The VAIO Fit line of notebooks features Sony’s digital imaging, sound and display technology. Users can choose either a 15-inch model with a 192 0x 1080 resolution or a 14-inch model with a 1600 x 900 resolution. Both models offer color enhancement technology and LED backlighting and have options for touchscreens.

Also included are standard Sony features, such as a backlit keyboard with number pad (on the 15-inch model only), Sony’s rapid Wake technology and Near Field Communication technology for quicker device pairing.

The notebook will come preloaded with some software included ArtRage Studio for painting tools, and video and music editing software, Sony Imagination Studio.

Sony also announced updates to its VAIO All-in-One Top 20 and L series PCs and its VAIO T series 15 Ultrabook,  running Windows 8.

The VAIO Fit line will be available in mid-May, starting at $549.
