Fuji announced the Fuji X100S, a compact fixed lens camera that follows the X100 model, and while the body remains similar to its predecessor, the X100S packs more impressive specs on the inside. The X100S has an intelligent hybrid autofocus system, which lets users switch between phase and contrast detection. The Fuji X100S will be available in Spring 2013 and will retail for $1,300 USD at the time of this writing.
Canon announced the PowerShot N at CES 2013, a 2.8-inch pint sized digital camera that features an 8x zoom, 12.1MP CMOS sensor, a DIGIC 5 Image Processor, and a 2.8-inch touchscreen that takes up the entire back of the camera. Along with 1080p Full HD video, it has a built-in Hybrid Auto Focus and Face ID system, along with a stabilization system. It will be available in April 2013 and will retail for $299.99 USD at the time of this writing.
NVIDIA surprised everyone at CES 2013 by announcing Project Shield, which makes use of the latest Tegra 4 mobile chipset from NVIDIA and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The 5-inch device features a multi-touch 1280×720 resolution display and is aimed at gamers with its ability to be mounted onto a controller that has speakers; turning it into a handheld gaming device. The biggest feature is that users will be able to stream high end games from their PC to the device, allowing gamers to play games like SkyRim and other high performance games on the go.
IOGEAR unveiled its Wireless 5×2 HD Matrix at CES 2013; the first product that can stream uncompressed HD 1080p video from up to give digital or analog sources to two displays. Users can stream content from multiple sources such as cable boxes, gaming consoles, blu-ray players, up to 100 feet away without even needing a line of sight.
Canon announced four new Pixma Wireless Office All-in-One printers at CES 2013 (technically the day before CES started) aimed at small offices and home offices. The Pixma MX892 Wireless Office AIO, Pixma MX522 Wireless Office AIO, Pixma MX452 Wireless Office AIO, and the Pixma MX392 Wireless Office AIO each feature wireless printing capabilities as well as a slew of other features.
At CES 2013 Lenovo unveiled a 27-inch display “table PC” called IdeaCenter that the company is working. It can function as a family computer, much like a desktop, or it can be used as a gaming console. It will be sold with two air hockey paddles, two joysticks, and a six-sided die so that families can use it for interactive gaming. It will run Windows 8 and Lenovo hopes to release it this Summer with the retail price starting at $1000 USD for the entry level model, with the top end version selling for $1700 USD.
Samsung revealed its ATIV Odyssey will be available in the “coming weeks”, and released official specs for the device. It will have a 4-inch Super AMOLED 800×480 display, 4G LTE connectivity, a 5MP rear-facing camera, and an expandable memory slot that can hold up to a 64MG microSD card slot. It waill feature Windows Phone 8 OS with exclusive Samsung apps preloaded onto the device.
