Avid video chatters will now be able to simultaneously watch YouTube videos with up to 11 of their friends thanks to the new ooVoo feature Watch Together, which the company debuted at CES 2013 on Tuesday.
Watch Together is the newest feature on ooVoo’s independent social video chat app. While the ooVoo app is available for PC, Mac and more than 240 iOS and Android mobile devices, the Watch Together feature will only be available for ooVoo’s PC users through the ooVoo for Desktop app, according to a press release issued by the company.
Watch Together delivers a multi-window, second-screen video sharing experience to its users, which allows up to 12 people to simultaneously watch and interact with the same YouTube video. All users will have the ability to play any YouTube video in the chat session and each user will also be able to interact with the video including start, stop, rewind, and pause functions.
The Watch Together feature will also have a keyword search function and will display trending videos for users to find new content. It also will also allow members of the chat to create a curated roster of interesting videos users may want to watch in the future.
