Quick Take

A reliable monochrome laser printer with a good selection of features.

\"HPThe HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401 is a small printer targeted at small to medium sized businesses. It features a 3.5-inch touchscreen menu, print resolution of up to 1200x1200dpi, advertised print speeds of 35ppm, a 50-sheet bypass tray, and a 245-sheet paper tray. With its network connectivity, web applications, HP ePrint and Apple AirPrint compatibility; it\’s a reliable printer that offers great features and functionality.

PrinterComparison found the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401 to be easy to use, with a simple process to get started using HP ePrint. HP\’s ePrint allows users to print remotely, share documents, and find real time information about the printer. PC also found that the print speeds were right on target with the advertised 35 ppm. The print quality was \”impressive\”, as PC states, when printing text documents. Its small size makes it easy to fit into any office space, either on a desk or on a shelf, while remaining low profile.

Mixed with its ease of use and quality printing abilities, it would make for a reliable option for any small to medium sized business. The only caveat is that, priced at $399 at the time of review, it is higher priced than its competitors. However, at the time of review, it was also featured on sale for $324, bridging the gap between the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401 and its competitors. For those keeping an eye on their budget, they may want to consider something else.
