Quick Take

The HP Officejet 6700 Premium would make a solid addition to a home office or be great shared among a small workgroup.

The HP Officejet 6700 Premium boasts fast printing speeds, all-in-one capabilities, and a stylish compact design; making it a great choice for anyone working in a small office or home office.  This printer features a 250 sheet tray that allows for paper up to 8.5×14-inches, multiple scan-to options, fax options, wired and wireless connectivity, HP\’s ePrint services, and a 2.65-inch touch screen.

\"HPHP\’s ePrint is a convenient service that allows users to print remotely using an email enabled device. Users can print from anywhere by sending up to 10 attachments to a specific email address that is chosen during the registration process. It is important to note that any emailed documents will print automatically, which means leaving expensive paper in the tray could be a costly mistake.  It also supports Google Cloud Print, a similar service that allows users to store and print documents on the go.

The HP Officejet 6700 Premium comes installed with 35 useful apps with 90 apps available at the time of review. PrinterComparison felt that the touch screen was easy to navigate and the touch sensitivity to be responsive. During testing, the printing speed lived up to its advertised 16ppm for black and white documents and 9ppm for color documents.

PC exhausted the printer\’s ink cartridge and were alerted that ink was low at 200 pages and were able to print 100 more pages after the alert. Although there is a pre-set low-ink alert, users can customize when they want to alerts and what kind of alerts they want to receive when their ink is running low.

PC did note that even though the printer is business focused, it was missing even a basic program to layout photos before printing. This may not deter those with a small business or home office, but reviewers felt it would have been nice for HP to include a basic photo editing software. The HP Officejet 6700 Premium also includes an embedded web server that allows users to adjust printing, scans, and faxes and also adjust printer settings online.

With fast printer speeds, useful applications, an easy to navigate platform, and tested durability; it is safe to say that the HP Officejet Premium 6700 would be a great printer for anyone in a small office or home office setting. Reviewers at PC concluded they would \”?feel comfortable recommending it to our readers\”.  The picture quality was slightly lacking, but for anyone who rarely prints photos, the picture quality will more than suffice. However, if you plan on printing more than the occasional photo, another printer might be for you.
